Feedback

Each year, at the request of Sandy Fraser, several of the Board Members lead a feedback discussion with the summer interns and our employees. The comments have been very positive and constructive.

The Students:

  • Appreciated Sandy’s ‘hands-on’ style, breadth of knowledge, and high level of accessibility
  • Valued Sandy’s individual and strong approach as a mentor
  • Found the unique opportunity to explore real world issues for real world networks with real hardware invaluable
  • Were grateful for the ‘real world’ slant of Fraser Research not found in academia
  • Noticed that the group had strong skills and came from various technical backgrounds, institutions and geographies
  • Valued the assistance provided by Elisabeth to obtain visas, locate suitable housing and generally keep everything well-oiled
  • Felt the experience was of immeasurable value
  • Gained perspective on the vision for a new broadband service for everyone in the US
  • Gained perspective on how his or her individual work fitted into the whole picture
  • Found the work challenging, open-ended and rewarding
  • Resulted in a PhD dissertation that was more informed, more relevant and meaningful
