Facilities

The 4000 sq ft institute is located on Nassau Street within walking distance of the Engineering and Computer Science departments of Princeton University. Fraser Research has the necessary networking research equipment, computers and instruments, to undertake research in home and wide-area networking.

train setThe Institute houses a stimulating array of experimental devices, including many connected with the early evolution of Internet music. There are prototype audio and video systems, and experiments with the control of these media in a home. There is an experimental fiber access network with prototypes of small low-power broadband switches that might one day be mounted on telephone poles. The 'Train Set', represents a fiber first-mile network for a village.

Laboratory equipment includes two multi-processor servers, and clusters of MAC mini computers and industrial PCs that are used to experiment with new protocols and applications. In addition, Fraser Research has oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other equipment that is used for network design and testing.
